How to Prepare Murabba of Amla at Home
250g amla (Indian gooseberry)
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/8 tsp saffron strands
1/8 tsp citric acid
Prick the Amla with a knife in a few places and boil it in a pan with enough water to cover them until they become soft.
Drain the water and let the amla cool down.
In a separate pan, add sugar and water and heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Keep stirring occasionally.
Add cooked Amlas into the sugar syrup, bring it to a boil and simmer for four to five minutes. Add cardamom powder, saffron strands and citric acid to the pan.
Cook the mixture on medium heat until it thickens and becomes sticky. Stir occasionally.
Allow it to cool, and store it in an airtight container.
